A few weeks ago, 3,000 industry professionals gathered in London for the 31st annual Business Travel Show Europe, presented by The BTN Group. This two-day event brings together travel buyers, procurement professionals, industry innovators, and others from across Europe to start, improve, or benchmark their travel programs.

This was Spotnana’s first year exhibiting at Business Travel Show Europe, and it won’t be our last (we’ll be back in 2026!). Over the two days, we met with dozens of customers, partners, and prospects on the expo floor. Our booth featured four demo stations where Spotters from our global team led live demos of our Travel-as-a-Service platform.

Sarosh Waghmar, our Founder and Chief Product Officer, attended the event and spoke on a panel titled, “Keep that noise down! Traveller pricing complaints, limited content access and how you can fight back.”

Moderated by Andy Hoskins, Editor-in-Chief of Business Travel News Europe, and Jay Boehmer, Editor-in-Chief of The Beat, the session explored how to address the root cause of restricted content in travel programs.

Waghmar spoke alongside industry veterans, including Jo Fong, Global Travel Manager of Gunvor Group, Jorien Dielwart, Global Travel Expense and Fleet Manager of TomTom, and Claudia Jackson, UK and Ireland Managing Director of BCD Travel.

A live poll during the panel revealed that 82% of audience members “constantly” (42%) or “frequently” (40%) hear traveler complaints about finding cheaper fares outside their corporate program, with an additional 16% hearing them “regularly.”

“Far too often, travel managers hear travelers say, ‘I found it cheaper somewhere else.’ This is the bane of every travel manager’s existence. We built Spotnana from the ground up to transform the infrastructure for the travel industry, so we could tackle this challenge,” said Waghmar. “Over time, we have built the deepest direct integrations with several top airlines and significantly expanded the suite of tools we provide for travel agents and TMCs. It’s not enough to just ensure the most comprehensive content is available in Spotnana for travelers to purchase—we are also making it easy for TMCs to service, so travelers have a seamless end-to-end experience.”

Panelists addressed how travel managers can tackle these complaints and improve content access. They discussed the nature of content restrictions, whether travel providers are withholding fares from GDSs and OBTs, and the implications of such actions. The conversation also explored the role of TMCs in embracing new distribution channels and how the industry can collectively improve content delivery to travelers.

A key focus was the evolving landscape of distribution technology and its impact on content accessibility. Sarosh contributed his perspective, detailing how Spotnana is rethinking how travel content is sourced, processed, and delivered through our Content Engine.
