We are excited to welcome Will Arora as a new EVP of Engineering! Working alongside EVP of Engineering Ashish Chaudhary, Will will help Spotnana’s Engineering team continue to drive innovation for our partners, customers, and the industry.

He was most recently the CEO of Charger.dev, a financial platform integrating business data for real-time reporting, profit margin improvement, and conversational AI. He previously served as CTO of Assurance IQ (acquired by Prudential Financial), where he developed systems to simplify insurance shopping, enabling millions of Americans to protect their assets.

Earlier in his career, while at Amazon, Will led a global team that optimized the company’s supply chain and expanded the Prime badge to millions of items. Will holds a B.S. & Ph.D. from MIT in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science.

We spoke with Will about his engineering background, why he decided to join Spotnana, and what he looks forward to in his new role.

Can you tell us about your background?

“I’ve spent my entire career in the tech industry, starting with building e-commerce websites for local businesses as a teenager. I’m passionate about the creativity of software product development and the ability to scale something to a global audience. Before joining Spotnana, I was the founder and CEO of Charger.dev, a company that developed a data science solution with AI agents for Excel analytics. One of our AI agents was even able to solve a Microsoft Excel World Championship complex spreadsheet problem.

Before that, I served as the CTO of Assurance IQ. There, I built a platform to sell life insurance to a mass market audience. I developed a digital shopping experience and matching algorithm that scaled revenue, ultimately leading to the company’s acquisition by Prudential Financial for $2.3 billion.

I also spent five years at Amazon, where I optimized the inbound supply chain, reducing average delivery times from 22 days to seven days in less than two years. This effort saved over a billion dollars in inventory carrying costs. Additionally, I led Amazon’s direct fulfillment business, growing its revenue from $2 billion to $3 billion in about a year and a half.”

Why did you decide to join Spotnana?

“I’ve had a working relationship with Steve Singh, Spotnana’s Executive Chairman and CEO, for a few years, as he led the investment at my previous company, Charger.dev. His vision for transforming corporate travel deeply resonated with me. I saw a unique opportunity to apply my experience with data pipelines and AI agents to a large-scale industry that is actively seeking modern solutions. The company culture and the team were also significant factors in my decision, as I enjoy a collaborative, fast-paced environment.”

What is significant about Spotnana being an open platform?

“Spotnana being an open platform means our technology empowers others across the travel ecosystem. It can serve as a central hub that allows everyone to build custom travel experiences on top of our platform. I think that Spotnana’s Travel-as-a-Service platform being open is the right way to transform a massive global industry like travel, as it results in a better traveler experience and more streamlined operations for travel management companies (TMCs).”

Tell us about your leadership philosophy.

“My leadership philosophy centers on approaching problems from principles. I believe that software systems should be built to mirror the needs of the business and that engineering teams are responsible for delivering measurable business results beyond just features and scalability. I encourage my teams to leverage AI and other creative solutions to tackle complex technical challenges and find ways to build faster. It’s also important for every team member to understand how their work contributes value to the business. And when you can measure the impact you’ve had on your customers and your business, we make sure to take time to celebrate.”

What excites you most about this role as EVP of Engineering at Spotnana?

“I’m excited to join Spotnana to focus specifically on the travel provider side of the business. One of the main areas of focus for me and the engineers I lead will be to continue building the world’s deepest integrations to travel providers. We will ensure Spotnana provides the world’s best access to content as well as the world’s best servicing capabilities. We’ll be pioneering personalized content. I’m also excited to empower TMCs and other players to build on our platform by building more capabilities to support third-party developers.”

Why is travel important to you?

“For me, travel is how we nourish our curiosity and sense of adventure. It’s the only way to truly experience things in person. Travel is essential for building relationships and learning about different cultures. On a personal level, my family loves to travel. We recently took a trip to Italy, and it was incredible to see my kids so engaged in their surroundings when experiencing a new culture for the first time.”
