Split payments allow business travelers to cover the cost of ancillaries

When traveling for business, employees often want to purchase ancillaries such as additional checked baggage, preferred seating, or early check-in.

If these items are not covered by company policies, travelers often have to purchase these amenities directly from a supplier’s website or mobile app, and this can lead to complications managing flight changes or cancellations.

Now Spotnana offers a better way. Our new split payments feature allows the cost of a booking and various ancillary services to be ‘split’ across two forms of payment. For example, a traveler can book a flight in Spotnana using their company payment method and then use their personal card to pay for desired amenities.

This gives travelers the flexibility to purchase the ancillaries they want through a single, corporate approved booking process while allowing corporations to enforce policies in a consistent manner.

How split payments work

When configuring your company travel policy, administrators can now select which “add-ons” are permitted. This includes additional baggage, early check-in (available on Southwest only), and seats.

For any items which are not included in the policy, when a traveler selects these in the booking flow, or after ticketing, they will be prompted to use a personal form of payment to cover the cost.

Allow your travelers to stretch out

With split payments, travelers can choose to upgrade to a preferred seat, including seats that offer extra legroom. When booking, they can simply select their desired seat and then during checkout, they are asked to use a personal card to pay for the additional seat cost.

Allow your travelers to do EarlyBird Check-In

When booking air on Southwest, travelers can now select EarlyBird Check-In and use split payments to pay for the additional cost. EarlyBird Check-In provides travelers with automatic check-in, earlier boarding position, preferred seat selection, and access to overhead storage for your carry-on luggage.

Split payments is a win-win for travel managers and travelers alike, providing travelers the flexibility to upgrade their travel experience, while complying with company policies.
