Something new and exciting is happening in travel. For many years airlines have created APIs to support their vision for modern retailing. Now the world’s largest hospitality company has taken a similar step.

Today, I’m excited to share that we’ve expanded our relationship with Marriott International by completing a deep direct integration to their central reservation system.

Modern hotel retailing for corporate travel

Hotels have exceptionally complex products to sell. Properties and rooms can have dozens of attributes, rates can vary based on a wide range of factors, and hotels often have a substantial number of ancillary products to offer.

Hotel chains have been evolving their website and mobile applications to support attribute-based shopping—a retail experience where travelers can choose rooms based on granular attributes and then layer on additional products to create their ideal stay.

Modern travel infrastructure is needed to build the deepest possible integrations with hotel IT systems in order to deliver attribute-based shopping through indirect channels. Spotnana was designed from the ground up to integrate content from any source and deliver a modern retailing experience.

Spotnana’s direct integration to Marriott’s central reservation system through their proprietary patent-pending technology platform is the first of its kind and provides our partners and customers with full access to Marriott’s global inventory of nearly 10,000 Marriott properties worldwide along with a personalized shopping experience.

“Marriott is committed to providing corporate customers with innovative technologies that simplify the travel experience,” said Shannon Patterson, Chief Commercial Performance Officer at Marriott International. “Spotnana’s modern infrastructure unleashes new capabilities like Reservation Delivery, providing customers with real-time visibility into traveler booking changes made through Marriott channels. This innovation helps customers better support their travelers and manage spend, and reinforces Marriott’s leadership in next generation corporate travel distribution.”

Breaking new ground together

We are proud to be the first corporate booking technology company to deliver verified loyalty linking with Marriott Bonvoy.

Travelers can now seamlessly and securely connect their Marriott Bonvoy account to their Spotnana profile. Authenticated Account Linking allows Spotnana to recognize Marriott Bonvoy status and Marriott Bonvoy credit card holders as well as display current points balance information.

A seamless, end-to-end journey

Our partners and customers can also immediately benefit from an improved shopping and servicing experience that includes:

  • Access to real-time pricing and inventory Travelers can access hotel rates and inventory, enabling them to benefit from real-time pricing and room availability.
  • Up-to-date details on rooms and amenities – Travelers see the same photos, room details, and hotel amenities available through Marriott channels.
  • Self-service flexibility and control – Travelers can modify or cancel bookings directly within Spotnana’s travel platform without agent assistance.
  • Streamlined servicing – Travel agents can efficiently manage servicing requests via Spotnana’s built-in agent desktop.
  • Corporate negotiated rates – Corporate negotiated rates are bookable through the Spotnana platform.

Travelers also benefit from Spotnana’s unified travel platform for travelers and travel agents, which supports the full journey of a hotel stay from search to booking to servicing.

“Spotnana’s direct integration with Marriott raises the bar for corporate travel programs by giving travelers a seamless experience from the moment they book to the end of their stay,” said Hillary Dallas, Head of Global Travel & Events at Amazon. “With clear visibility into negotiated rates, loyalty benefits, and self-service tools, travelers can more easily manage their trip wherever they are in their journey.”

Delivering new value to our customers and partners

Spotnana and Marriott have worked closely together for several years to support the rapidly growing Business Access by Marriott Bonvoy™ program for small and mid-sized businesses, which is powered by Spotnana’s Travel-as-a-Service platform.

Building on the success of this relationship, Spotnana’s direct integration with Marriott represents the next step in our journey to provide our customers and partners with the most comprehensive access to content at the best available prices, and with the most advanced global servicing capabilities.

Spotnana’s partners can instantly activate this integration using the configurable content controls available within Spotnana Cloud.

“We couldn’t be more excited to expand our relationship with Marriott and deliver the benefits of a deep, direct integration to our partners and customers,” said Steve Singh, Executive Chairman and CEO at Spotnana. “Travelers can now benefit from full access to Marriott’s inventory, improved shopping experiences, and the ability to be serviced where and how they prefer.”

Thank you to Marriott for trusting us to unlock the future of hotel retailing alongside you. We appreciate your collaboration and look forward to working together to deliver a new generation of travel experiences.
