Spotlight on Chelsea Billig: Driving enterprise implementation

For Enterprise Implementation Manager Chelsea Billig, these words from Spotnana Founder Sarosh Waghmar perfectly illustrate Spotnana’s culture and ethos.

At Spotnana, Chelsea supports TMC implementation managers and partners as they seamlessly onboard customers. She also communicates customer needs and feedback to our Product Team, partners with Engineering to understand current and future capabilities, and works with Account Management to drive customer success.

Chelsea discussed why she chose to work at Spotnana, what it’s like to work on her team, why travel is important to her, and how Spotnana has helped her excel in her career.

Can you share your career journey prior to Spotnana?

“Most of my career has been spent in travel or customer-facing roles. I’ve worked across several industries, including visual communications, real estate, and technology education, but travel has always felt like my true calling.

“I worked as a corporate travel agent for several years before joining Spotnana. Combining that experience with my background in customer-facing roles made my transition to Spotnana feel very natural. It was the perfect opportunity to blend my passions for travel, problem solving, and relationship building.”

Why did you choose to come work at Spotnana?

“I had never worked at a technology startup before Spotnana. The opportunity to challenge myself in a completely new environment excited me.

“I wanted to work somewhere where I could wear many hats, help shape processes, solve complex problems, and contribute to something bigger than myself. It was immediately clear that Spotters are deeply passionate about what we are building. That energy was incredibly motivating.

“Joining Spotnana felt like taking a leap into the unknown and coming out rewarded. In fact, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Spotnana is reimagining the future of travel, and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

How has Spotnana helped you excel in your career?

“I originally joined Spotnana as a Client Success Manager. As the company evolved, my skill set was recognized, and I transitioned to the implementation team. This opportunity thrilled me because it enabled me to develop my skills in an unfamiliar area.

“I’ve been fortunate to take on projects and challenges that have accelerated my professional growth and expanded my confidence. I’ve had the opportunity to learn from strong leaders and work closely with teams across the organization. This has given me broader exposure to the business and allowed me to continue developing new skills.

“One thing I really appreciate about Spotnana is that leadership genuinely supports career growth. Every year, I’m encouraged to identify areas where I want to develop, and my leaders actively help create opportunities for me to continue progressing up our Career Ladder.”

What are the dynamics and goals of your team?

“My team values collaboration. Everyone is willing to jump in, help, brainstorm solutions, and support one another through challenges. There’s a strong sense of trust, and we genuinely believe that we achieve more together than individually.

“We also balance hard work with having fun, which creates a really positive environment.

“At the core, our goal is to deliver projects that both our clients and our internal teams are proud of. Because our role sits between external partners and internal stakeholders, communication and teamwork are incredibly important to ensuring successful outcomes for everyone involved.”

Can you share how in-person gatherings have shaped your Spotnana experience?

“In-person events at Spotnana are incredibly special. Although I’ve been with the company for nearly three years, our global offsite in Bangkok was my first Converge experience, and it exceeded every expectation.

“Being surrounded by so many talented people who are all working toward the same vision made me feel incredibly proud to be part of Spotnana. Meeting colleagues in person also reinforced how collaborative, smart, and passionate the team truly is.

“Beyond the sessions themselves, the event provided a wonderful opportunity to get to know my coworkers on a more personal level. The planning team excelled at creating an experience that was professionally valuable and genuinely fun. I left Bangkok feeling a profound connection to the company as well as excitement for the road ahead.”

Why is travel important to you? Why work in the travel industry?

“Many of my goals and experiences revolve around exploring new places, learning about different cultures, and connecting with people around the world.

“One of the best things about travel is that it pushes you outside of your comfort zone. Travel teaches empathy, adaptability, and perspective in ways that are difficult to replicate elsewhere. Some of my most meaningful memories have come from sharing meals, conversations, and experiences with people from different backgrounds.

“I’ve worked in several industries throughout my career, but travel has always pulled me back. It’s an industry filled with curious, passionate people who value experiences and connection. I feel fortunate to contribute to something that helps people explore the world and create meaningful memories of their own.”

What is your favorite thing about working at Spotnana?

“Without question, it’s the people.

“I’ve never worked with such a talented, motivated, and supportive group of individuals. Being surrounded by people who constantly challenge themselves pushes me to continue learning, growing, and stepping outside of my comfort zone.

“My manager, Denby Bruzas, has also had a significant impact on my Spotnana experience. She encourages me to take on challenges that stretch my abilities while providing the support and confidence to grow through them. She has been an incredible mentor, playing a major role in my development.

“What also stands out to me about the company culture is the absence of ego. People genuinely want to help each other succeed, and that starts at the top.

“One moment I will never forget was speaking with our Founder Sarosh Waghmar at Converge in 2025. I thanked him for the opportunity to work for him at Spotnana, and he responded, ‘You don’t work for me; you work with me.’ It spoke volumes about the culture here and the emphasis placed on collaboration and shared success.”

Fun Facts!

• What’s the best trip you ever took? My husband and I were fortunate enough to backpack through South America for about six months, and it was truly a life-changing experience. We explored everything from Patagonia and the W Trek to the salt flats of Bolivia, Machu Picchu, Carnival in Brazil, and scuba diving off the coast of Colombia.
• What’s your favorite thing to do at the airport? I absolutely love a good lounge! The Capital One Venture X lounges are truly the best (I promise this is not a paid ad). Nothing gives me more joy than knowing I am fully through security, have an hour before boarding, and can enjoy some yummy food and drinks before going somewhere exciting!
• What’s your favorite airplane snack? Ginger ale and pretzels have been my go-to since I was a kid, so there’s definitely some nostalgia attached to them. That said, I also love trying different meals on international flights and usually try to order something new each time I travel.
• Aisle, middle, or window seat? If I’m traveling with someone and it’s a two-seat configuration, I prefer the window seat. I like having something to lean against, and since I’m short, extra legroom usually isn’t a priority for me. If I’m traveling alone, though, I prefer the aisle so I can easily get up and move around whenever I want.
• What’s your go-to show to watch on a trip? Honestly, not a movie or show, but Solitaire. I rarely play games otherwise, but the second I get on a plane, I could easily play Solitaire for an entire long-haul flight.
• What’s the top destination on your bucket list? Japan is at the top of my list! Everything about it interests me – the food, culture, nature, design, and energy of the cities. I’m hoping to finally visit within the next year or so.
