Spotlight on Angela Mickelson: Empowering TMC partners
Enterprise Implementation Manager Angela Mickelson works with our TMC partners to help them deploy Spotnana and onboard new customers. This includes ensuring that our partners receive the proper training and have access to the documentation they require.
Additionally, she makes sure that partner roadmap requests are coordinated with Spotnana’s Product team, and she brings the necessary internal teams together to solve any technical and operational challenges that may occur during a deployment.
Angela discussed her travel industry career, why our vision resonated with her, what it’s like to work on the Implementation team, and why she enjoys being a Spotter.
Can you share your career journey before Spotnana?
“I started my career in 1989 as an agent at American Express Platinum Card, where I booked leisure travel. I then moved into corporate travel. I vividly recall when our entire industry transitioned from a commission-based model to one in which we charged our customers directly for our services. At the time, this was completely new territory.
“When the internet and early online booking tools (OBTs) were introduced, I decided to lean into the disruption, becoming one of the first people at my agency to dive into the online booking world. I managed a team of agents focused on implementation and support for Worldspan’s Trip Manager. I’m proud that I was an early pioneer in the OBT space helping to shape the beginning of self-service corporate travel management.
“My experience managing technology on the agency side made it easy to pivot over to the vendor side. I later spent 16 years at Concur working with TMC partners and training their teams.”
Why did you choose to come work at Spotnana?
“After nearly two decades dedicated to building and scaling existing systems, I learned about Spotnana’s vision to fundamentally transform the infrastructure of travel. It immediately resonated with my pioneering spirit.
“Once again, I jumped at the chance to help build the next generation of travel technology.”
What is it like to work on your team?
“Our team works together seamlessly. We make sure our partners have everything they need to successfully roll out and support their customers.
“We learn together, democratizing information so that we can all benefit from our collective knowledge and get ahead of challenges. I’m proud to be on the Implementation team. It’s evident that our sole focus is on getting things done correctly.”
What is something specific that you’ve accomplished at Spotnana that you’re proud of?
“I worked on a cross-departmental initiative to significantly accelerate the implementation of our products by one of our TMC partners in more than 27 countries. We had fun while working hard on a project that resulted in substantial achievements throughout 2025.”
How has Spotnana helped you reach your career goals?
“At this point in my career, I’m focused on the legacy I want to leave in the travel industry. Working at Spotnana means actively contributing to the creation and adoption of new, modern infrastructure.
“What could be more impactful than that?”
Can you share how in-person gatherings have shaped your Spotnana experience?

Enterprise Implementation Manager Angela Mickelson (fourth from left) at Converge 2025 in Bangkok.
“I have been working remotely from home since 2005, so I greatly appreciate that Spotnana brings us all together at Converge, our annual global offsite, for face-to-face time with our colleagues.
“The time we spend together learning about each other, our cultures, our families, and our roles at Spotnana is invaluable to the overall success and happiness of our teams. It also provides an opportunity to learn about our company and ensure alignment in our direction.”
Why is travel important to you?
“I believe that travel is the most important activity one can do. That’s why the travel industry is the only industry I considered for each stage of my career.
“Get out there, see the world, explore amazing places, seek new experiences, and embrace adventure. Life is too short!”
