Spotnana was created to build a new infrastructure for the travel industry that anyone can use to accelerate innovation.

When we announced our Series B round of funding just over a year ago, we outlined a plan to power travel for corporations, TMCs, technology providers, and travel suppliers. I’m proud to say we’ve made tremendous strides in the past 12 months in all of these areas, including recent announcements with CWT, Brex, United Airlines, and American Airlines

So far, our efforts with suppliers have focused on building the deepest direct integrations with the world’s top airlines that integrate the full range of their content and enable personalized offers. Today we’re excited to reveal the next step in our journey to provide suppliers with modern technology that substantially improves the way they retail their product offerings and lays a foundation they can build upon to deliver value in new ways.

I’m excited to announce that Qantas has selected Spotnana as the core infrastructure powering the next iteration of its Qantas Business Rewards platform. Qantas Business Rewards is the airline’s loyalty program for small and mid-sized businesses that offers members the opportunity to earn rewards points on their everyday expenses and travel, and also benefit from discounts.

Delivering enhanced value to Qantas business customers

Qantas selected Spotnana as its partner to develop and power the travel management component for the Qantas Business Rewards platform after a competitive tender process.

Using Spotnana’s technology, travelers will be able to manage entire trips that combine air travel with hotel and car rental bookings through Qantas Business Rewards. In addition, travelers will be able to pay for travel using points, cards, or a combination of the two.

Modernizing travel industry infrastructure

For the last several months engineering teams at Qantas and Spotnana have been working together to integrate Spotnana’s Travel-as-a-Service platform seamlessly into the Qantas Business Rewards website and build a first-of-its-kind integration with Amadeus Altea, Qantas’ Passenger Service System (PSS).

Our integration uses a combination of Spotnana’s open APIs and advanced white labeling capabilities to deliver a user experience that features Qantas branding elements while providing access to the rich user experiences that require a direct PSS integration.

The new Qantas Business Rewards booking experience will be live later this year, and I can’t wait for you all to see it. Soon we’ll be able share more details on what we’ve built together, including a short demo.

The new art of the possible

Through our partnership with Qantas we’re breaking new ground in the travel industry. Rather than standing up a hard coded custom website for a rewards program, we are deploying our standard Travel-as-a-Service platform complete with APIs that support custom user experiences. In addition, by integrating directly with Qantas’ PSS, we will be able to support rapid innovation around how fares are priced, packaged, and purchased.

Finally a new, open architecture for connecting suppliers directly to the travelers they serve is available to suppliers off-the-shelf. Our technology is designed to be future proof and flexible, enabling suppliers to adapt to rapidly evolving traveler expectations.

Qantas is an exceptional innovation partner, and we are just beginning to explore additional opportunities for working together. I’m looking forward to sharing more updates around our exciting partnership in the months and years ahead.
